[Financial News] KB Kookmin Bank announced on the 29th that it signed a strategic memorandum of understanding (MOU) with The Bank of New York Mellon on the 28th (local time) for innovation in cross-border digital asset payment and remittance services.
The signing ceremony took place at the Miami Beach Convention Center in Florida, USA, where 'Sibos 2026,' the largest annual event in the global financial services industry hosted by the Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication (SWIFT), was held.
This agreement was established to proactively respond to the digital transformation trends in the global financial market and to build a cooperative framework for expanding innovative global payment services. Both companies will focus on enhancing the convenience of overseas remittance services for foreign customers. KB Kookmin Bank plans to provide customized overseas remittance services to foreign and international student customers by leveraging The Bank of New York Mellon Corporation's global payment network and 'Pay to Wallet' capabilities.
In addition, both companies plan to pursue multifaceted cooperation by linking their global networks and foreign exchange and payment service capabilities to enhance the cross-border payment experience.
