Body of Male Infant '20 cm Tall' Found at Asan Wastewater Treatment Plant; Police Investigating

[Financial News] The body of a male infant was found at a wastewater treatment facility inside Samsung Display's facility in Asan, South Chungcheong Province, prompting a police investigation.
According to News1, Newsis and other outlets on the 29th, a male infant was found dead at around 11:30 p.m. on the 28th at a wastewater treatment facility in Tangjeong-myeon, Asan-si, South Chungcheong Province.
Police said an in-house firefighter patrolling the area reported, "It appears to be the body of a child."
Emergency responders who arrived after receiving the report found the body of a male infant measuring 20 cm and weighing 110 g in a collection basin at the wastewater treatment facility, then handed it over to police.
Police said, "We still cannot determine whether it was a miscarried fetus or an illegitimate child. We plan to apply for a search-and-seizure warrant, conduct an autopsy tomorrow, and request DNA analysis and other examinations." Police will conduct an autopsy and proceed with an investigation, including DNA analysis.
Meanwhile, the facility, owned by Asan-si, is located within Samsung Display's Asan Campus and treats household wastewater from nearby residents as well as wastewater from the factory.
