Hansung University ROTC Unit Holds Language and Cultural Exchange with U.S. Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center

[Financial News]  Hansung University’s ROTC unit held a language and cultural exchange program with students from the U.S. Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center (DLIFLC).
Hansung University said on the 29th that it held the language and cultural exchange program with DLIFLC at the Officers’ Club at Osan Air Base on the 22nd. Launched in 2024, the program was held for the fifth time.
About 40 people, including 15 cadets from Hansung University’s ROTC unit and 15 DLIFLC students, as well as officials from both sides, attended the event. After touring Osan Air Base, the participants took part in group discussions and shared their impressions.
In particular, they compared the meaning and traditions of the two countries’ holidays, as well as their family cultures, under the theme “Chuseok in Korea and Thanksgiving in the United States.” The students shared similarities and differences in how the holidays are celebrated, the foods served, and family culture.
Yoon Seung-gil, commander of Hansung University’s ROTC unit, said, "It was an opportunity for cadets to broaden their international perspectives and understand different cultures and values, in addition to improving their foreign-language skills." He added, "We will expand international exchange opportunities so that students can experience diverse cultures and environments."
