KB Financial Group Hosts 19th KB Financial Group Cup Women's Amateur Golf Championship

[Financial News] The 19th KB Financial Group Cup Women's Amateur Golf Championship, hosted by KB Financial Group and organized by the Korea Golf Association (KGA), will be held for three days from the 30th through the 2nd of next month at CENTURY21 COUNTRY CLUB in Wonju, KB Financial Group said on the 29th.
Now in its 19th year, the tournament is a major amateur competition that has established itself as a gateway for promising young players who will lead Korean women's golf. Past winners include Kim Hyo-joo (2009), Jin Young Ko (2012), and So Mi Lee (2016), who currently compete on the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Tour, as well as Lee Ye-won (2018) and Hyunju Yoo (2022), who are now prominent players in the Korea Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA).
A large number of promising amateur players regarded as the future of Korean golf will compete this year. National team reserve players Park Jo-Eun (third-year student at Mankyung Girls' High School) and Im Su-min (third-year student at Gumi Broadcasting and Communications High School) will lead the field, joined by junior national team reserve players Yong Hyeon-jeong (second-year student at Haemil Middle School) and Jang Ha-eun (second-year student at Gwangju Sungil Middle School). Fierce competition for the title is expected.
The winner of this year's tournament will earn a spot in the 2027 KLPGA Tour major, the KB Financial Golden Life Championship.
A KB Financial Group official said, "We hope this tournament will serve as a springboard for promising players to grow into athletes who bring dreams and hope to the public and advance to bigger stages."
