Hanyang University Shares Achievements of 'Young AI Talent' Developed with Industry

[Financial News] Hanyang University has joined forces with industry to strengthen young people's practical artificial intelligence (AI) skills and help them enter the workforce, showcasing the results of its training program.
Hanyang University's Industrial AI Talent Development Boot Camp Project Team announced on the 29th that it had held a results-sharing event to present the educational outcomes and outstanding projects from the 'Youth Leap Talent Development Boot Camp,' conducted in partnership with companies.
The event spotlighted the results of eight projects in which participating young people used AI technology to solve real-world problems in industry. An intermediate-level team analyzed the causes of defects in wafers, a core component in semiconductor manufacturing, and successfully developed AI technology to diagnose them automatically. Another team analyzed store sales and profit data, identified problems with discount policies that reduced profitability, and proposed improvement strategies reflecting product-level profitability and sales performance. The project demonstrated practical skills that could be applied directly to corporate management.
In the beginner-level course, participants presented an AI service that recommends customized local tourism information to users. The service was later selected as one of the outstanding projects in a Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) competition.
The 'Youth Leap Talent Development Boot Camp' is a Ministry of Education program that supports employment by providing short-term intensive training to young people who are not enrolled in university. Hanyang University was selected this year as a university operating the AI track and has jointly developed curricula and operated projects with companies. A total of 62 people took part in the first course, held in July and August, and 26 completed it.
Major industry players, including CJ OliveNetworks, Megazone Cloud, Day1 Company, Salesforce and FuriosaAI, took part in the program and helped provide practical, work-focused training. The event, held on the 11th at Drium in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, was attended by 51 people, including trainees, Hanyang University officials, and representatives from the Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology (KIAT) and participating companies.
Hanyang University's project team plans to continue supporting young people's professional development and entry into society by expanding practical AI education and projects linked to industry.
