Dong-A University SW Center, Saha-gu Office Collaboration Leads to Startup

[Financial News] A student team that participated in an industry-academia cooperation program jointly conducted by Dong-A University Software Innovation Center and Saha-gu Office has successfully established a corporation and launched a startup.
According to Dong-A University on the 29th, the university signed an agreement with Saha-gu Office last October to foster SW and convergence talent and cooperate on research and technology development. Since then, it has operated a field-based project in which students identify real-world problems at local government offices and solve them using software.
Minwon Factory, a team of computer engineering students that participated in the project, completed the formal incorporation process after attending this year's startup camp and receiving support from a startup support center, building on its experience developing software to automate civil complaint services at Saha-gu Office.
This achievement was made as part of the SW-Centered University Project supported by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Institute for Information and Communications Technology Planning and Evaluation (IITP).
Kim Su-bin, a member of the Minwon Factory team, said, "By communicating with officials at Saha-gu Office while developing and installing the solution, I was able to learn about local government operations as well as networking and security. Through the startup camp, I gained practical know-how in areas such as taxation, business plan writing and entering the public-sector market, which enabled us to pursue the establishment of a formal corporation."
Lee Seok-hwan, director of the Dong-A University Software Innovation Center, stated, "Based on our agreement with the local government, a virtuous cycle is taking root in which students identify and solve real-world problems themselves, and that experience leads to startups. We will continue expanding cooperation with regional institutions to strengthen the development of field-oriented SW and AI talent and support for youth entrepreneurship."
