TS Adds Information on "Inspection Stations Offering Recall Repairs" to Vehicle Inspection Notices

[Financial News] The Korea Transportation Safety Authority (TS) is providing information on inspection stations where people can receive both vehicle inspections and recall repairs in one visit.
TS said on the 28th that it has been including information on vehicle inspection stations that can perform recall repairs in advance inspection notices since this month. The measure is intended to ease the inconvenience of having to look for repair shops and inspection stations separately and make it easier for people to find nearby stations that offer both inspections and recall repairs.
In cooperation with automakers, TS secured information on inspection stations capable of performing recall repairs and marked the manufacturers whose recalls can be handled at each station in the regional station lists included in the notices. Vehicle owners can check the location and contact information of nearby stations, as well as which manufacturers' recall repairs are available there.
There are currently 413 vehicle inspection stations nationwide that can perform recall repairs. By manufacturer, there are 209 stations for Hyundai Motor, 113 for Kia, 31 for Renault Korea, 31 for GM Korea, six for KG Mobility (KGM), and 23 for other manufacturers.
Online searches have also been improved. Users of the TS Cyber Inspection Station can now check whether recall repairs are available and which manufacturers are handled in the inspection station search results. By using the advance notice together with the online search, vehicle owners can identify stations that offer both inspections and recall repairs in advance and plan their visits. TS expects the improvement to encourage repairs for vehicles with outstanding recalls and help ensure the safety of vehicles on the road.
Yong-Sik Jung, chairman of the Korea Transportation Safety Authority, said, "We have improved convenience so that people preparing for vehicle inspections can easily find stations capable of performing recall repairs and receive both the inspection and any necessary recall repairs at the same time." He added, "We will continue to provide services linking vehicle inspections with the recall system to address public inconvenience and do our utmost to create a safe environment for vehicle operation."
