Shinhan Financial Group Expands Korea-Japan Financial Cooperation, Seeks Collaboration on Climate and Digital Finance

[Financial News] Shinhan Financial Group discussed cooperation with financial market officials from South Korea and Japan in the areas of transition finance, carbon markets, and digital finance. The group participated in a panel discussion, introduced its transition finance strategy, and explored ways to promote innovation and development in the financial markets of both countries, including digital assets. 
On the 29th, Shinhan Financial Group said it had discussed cooperation between South Korea and Japan in transition finance, carbon markets, and digital finance at the Korea-Japan Financial Cooperation Conference held on the 28th at KOFIA in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Yeouido, Seoul. The conference was held under the theme “Building Reliable Climate Finance Infrastructure in Asia.”
The conference was organized by Yonsei University’s Graduate School of Environmental Finance and Green Finance Forum-Korea (GFF-K), with Shinhan Financial Group as its sponsor. Representatives from major domestic and international institutions, including universities and research institutes, financial regulators, and the Asian Development Bank (ADB), attended the event and exchanged views on climate transition finance policies, digital finance innovation, and the direction of development for the digital asset market.
A Shinhan Financial Group official said, “Climate change and the digital transition are important forces driving change in the financial industry.” The official added, “We will continue to work closely with financial institutions in South Korea and Japan to pursue sustainable development and new business opportunities in climate and digital finance.”
