"I Didn't Offer Iran Anything"... Trump Lashes Out at Report on Sanctions Relief

[Financial News] Amid reports that the United States had offered to ease economic sanctions and release frozen funds in exchange for Iran making concessions on its nuclear program, U.S. President Donald Trump immediately denied the report.
Axios, a United States political news outlet, reported on the 28th local time that "President Trump is willing to ease sanctions on the condition that Iran makes concessions on its nuclear program." Trump, however, wrote on Truth Social, "That is not true. I have never offered Iran anything," and dismissed the report as a "scam."
The statement came as the United States and Iran were attempting to resume dialogue through mediators including Qatar and Pakistan. Qatar is reportedly expected to meet with Trump administration officials and enter negotiations by the 29th at the latest.
However, the two sides remain far apart on key issues. Iran wants to focus negotiations on the Strait of Hormuz and the U.S. military's maritime blockade, while the Trump administration is first demanding concessions on Iran's nuclear program.
A United States official said, "The two sides still disagree over the timing of commitments and who will take what steps first," adding, "There will be no agreement with Iran unless the nuclear issue is addressed." The official continued, "The United States needs to determine whether Iran is serious now or is trying to use tricks to escape its difficult situation."
