Daewoo Engineering & Construction Wins Bid for Section 1 of Yongin Semiconductor National Industrial Complex, a Mega-Scale National Project, in a Deal Worth KRW 416.9 Billion

[Financial News] Daewoo Engineering & Construction will undertake construction of Section 1 of the Yongin Semiconductor National Industrial Complex, a mega-scale national project.
Daewoo Engineering & Construction announced on the 29th that it had been selected as the winning bidder for Section 1 of the Yongin Advanced System Semiconductor Cluster National Industrial Complex development project, commissioned by Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH). In the evaluation for the construction management at risk (CMR) project, the Daewoo Engineering & Construction-led consortium earned a total of 310.8 points. Daewoo Engineering & Construction participated in the bid as part of a consortium with Namkwang Construction, Jungheung Tocon and Samho Development.
According to the company, the project is a large-scale national initiative to develop a complex and related structures spanning approximately 3.45 million square meters across parts of Idong-eup and Namsa-eup in Yongin. It is a core section that accounts for approximately 44% of the entire Yongin Semiconductor National Industrial Complex site and is the largest construction project commissioned by LH this year. The total bid amount is KRW 868.6 billion, of which KRW 416.9 billion corresponds to Daewoo Engineering & Construction, the lead contractor with a 48% stake.
Daewoo Engineering & Construction has extensive experience carrying out various public projects with LH. One example is its active participation in LH-commissioned public housing projects involving private-sector participation, through which it successfully completed seven projects over the past three years. The company has also successfully carried out large-scale public-private joint development projects, including Gwacheon Knowledge Information Town, developed by LH. Daewoo Engineering & Construction is also leading the Gadeok Island New Airport project, a major national initiative.
