Samsung Features Jensen Huang in the Heart of New York to Celebrate His Van Fleet Award

Samsung Electronics displayed a video highlighting Huang's innovation journey in the heart of New York to celebrate his receipt of the '2026 James A. Van Fleet Award.'
Samsung Electronics said on the 28th (local time) that it had broadcast a video on digital billboards in Times Square from 6 p.m. on the 27th through the 28th. The video highlighted CEO Huang's innovative leadership and his major achievements in advancing the artificial intelligence (AI) industry.
The video described CEO Huang using four keywords: 'Pioneer,' 'Architect,' 'Builder' and 'Friend.' It provided a condensed look at Huang's journey in pioneering the AI and accelerated computing markets and building today's AI ecosystem. Another video, set in a virtual exhibition space, sequentially presented Huang's major activities and vision while conveying the significance of his James A. Van Fleet Award.
The James A. Van Fleet Award was established by the nonprofit organization The Korea Society in honor of General James A. Van Fleet, who served as commander of the U.S. Eighth Army during the Korean War. It is awarded annually to individuals or organizations that have contributed to promoting friendship and cooperation between South Korea and the United States.
CEO Huang was selected as this year's recipient in recognition of his leadership in innovation in AI and accelerated computing, as well as his contributions to expanding AI and semiconductor industry cooperation between South Korea and the United States.
Samsung Electronics is pursuing the development of an 'AI Factory' by combining NVIDIA's accelerated computing and digital twin technologies with its semiconductor manufacturing capabilities and applying AI across the entire process, from R&D to design and manufacturing.
AI is not only driving explosive growth in demand for semiconductors but also changing how they are developed and produced. As a result, the cooperation between the two companies appears to be moving beyond a simple semiconductor supply relationship.
Samsung Electronics' connection with the James A. Van Fleet Award also dates back 20 years. The late Samsung Chairman Lee Kun-hee received the award in 2006 in recognition of his contributions to economic cooperation between South Korea and the United States and the development of relations between the two countries.
Twenty years later, Samsung Electronics put the face and innovation journey of CEO Huang, who received the same award, on display in Times Square, New York. The congratulatory video carries added significance as it underscored how Samsung Electronics and NVIDIA's longstanding cooperation, built around semiconductors, is expanding into a new phase in the AI era.
