Teen who stabbed woman in her 20s and attempted sexual assault late at night arrested while sleeping at convenience store

[Financial News]  A teenager who allegedly stabbed a woman in her 20s he did not know and attempted to sexually assault her late at night has been arrested by police.
According to MBC, Yonhap News Agency and other outlets on the 28th, Cheongju Sangdang Police Station said it had detained and was questioning a teenage boy identified as A on suspicion of causing injury in connection with rape and other offenses under the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment of Sexual Crimes.
A is accused of stabbing a woman in her 20s identified as B in an alley in Cheongju at around 11:30 p.m. the previous day, the 27th, and then attempting to sexually assault her.
The two reportedly did not know each other, and A allegedly fled on a motorcycle when B resisted.
B was taken to a hospital for treatment, and her injuries were not considered life-threatening.
Police, who responded to a report from a nearby resident, used closed-circuit television footage and other evidence to make an emergency arrest of A at a convenience store about 3 kilometers from the crime scene, approximately three hours later.
A was reportedly sleeping face down at the convenience store at the time.
The investigation found that A was a so-called out-of-school teenager who had dropped out of a nearby high school.
Police plan to apply for an arrest warrant after investigating the exact circumstances of the case.
