NVIDIA's Jensen Huang Receives Van Fleet Award for 'Contributing to U.S.-South Korea Relations'

[Financial News] NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang received the Van Fleet Award on the 28th, local time. The award is presented to individuals who have contributed to improving South Korea-U.S. relations.
The Korea Society, a nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering friendship between South Korea and the United States, presented the Van Fleet Award to Jensen Huang at its annual event in New York. Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong and SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won also attended the ceremony in person to congratulate Huang.
The Korea Society said the award was presented "to honor his pioneering leadership and innovative contributions in artificial intelligence (AI) and the semiconductor industry, key areas of evolving U.S.-South Korea economic cooperation." The organization added that South Korea has played an important role as a partner in NVIDIA's global innovation ecosystem, while NVIDIA has expanded cooperation with major Korean companies, including Samsung Electronics, SK Group, NAVER, and Hyundai Motor Group, to strengthen its AI capabilities and global technology leadership.
Abraham Kim, president of The Korea Society, said, "It is an honor to present Jensen Huang with the Van Fleet Award in recognition of his pioneering leadership and the partnerships NVIDIA has forged with Korea's leading innovative companies, including SK Group, Samsung Electronics, NAVER, and Hyundai Motor Group."
Kim added, "They are shaping the future of the global technology landscape together. Leaders in South Korea and the United States take pride in the expansion of this cooperation, which will help usher in a new era of technological innovation and strengthen partnerships that benefit future generations."
The Van Fleet Award was established in 1995 to honor General James Alward Van Fleet, who served as commander of the Eighth U.S. Army during the Korean War and founded The Korea Society in 1957. The award is presented annually to individuals who have contributed to strengthening South Korea-U.S. relations.
Past recipients include former U.S. Presidents Jimmy Carter and George H. W. Bush, former South Korean President Kim Dae-jung, former Samsung chairman Lee Kun-hee, Hyundai Motor Group Honorary Chairman Chung Mong-koo, and the group BTS.
