"My Mom Said I Couldn't Become a Singer" ... Annie's Music Video Appears on Shinsegae Department Store's Digital Billboard

[Financial News] The new music video by ALLDAY PROJECT, a co-ed group featuring Annie (real name Moon Seo-yoon), the granddaughter of Lee Myung-hee, honorary chairwoman of Shinsegae Group, and the eldest daughter of Chung Yoo-kyung, chairwoman of Shinsegae, was unveiled on Shinsegae Square, the digital billboard on the exterior wall of Shinsegae Department Store's main branch in Myeong-dong, central Seoul.
According to Chosun Ilbo and other outlets on the 28th, ALLDAY PROJECT released its second EP, or mini-album, CRASH at 6 p.m. that day and premiered the music video through Shinsegae Square. This marked the first time an ALLDAY PROJECT music video had been shown on Shinsegae Square.
Shinsegae Department Store introduced Shinsegae Square in November 2024, promoting it as "Seoul's new landmark." The digital billboard, built at 1,292.3 square meters—roughly the size of three basketball courts—was expanded to 1,353.6 square meters last year. It has displayed luxury brand advertisements, music videos by K-pop singers, and drama and film teasers. In March, BTS also unveiled the music video for its new song SWIM through Shinsegae Square.
Shinsegae Department Store previously issued separate press releases when it unveiled music videos by other K-pop artists, including G-Dragon, BTS, and BOYNEXTDOOR. However, it reportedly did not issue a press release regarding the screening of ALLDAY PROJECT's new music video.
A Shinsegae Department Store official told Chosun Ilbo, "We have screened music videos by various singers, and we have not issued a press release every time."
Annie debuted last June as a member of the five-member co-ed idol group ALLDAY PROJECT. She had attracted considerable public attention even before her debut and previously said that her family, including Chairwoman Chung, had initially opposed her becoming an idol.
In a documentary released before her debut, Annie said, "My family strongly opposed my debut as a singer," adding, "When I said I still couldn't give up on it, my mother said she would help persuade the rest of the family if I was accepted to a university."
Chairwoman Chung set admission to an Ivy League school as a condition, and Annie was subsequently accepted to Columbia University.
Annie said, "I gave up sleep to prepare for the college entrance exam and was accepted," adding, "My mom said she really didn't think I would get in."
Annie majored in art history and visual arts at Columbia University. She took a leave of absence to pursue her idol career, then completed her remaining semesters during the team's hiatus in the first half of this year and graduated in May.
