United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), Seoul Auction to Hold Charity Auction for Children

[Financial News] To mark the 80th anniversary of UNICEF's founding, artworks and collectibles donated by artists will go under the hammer at a charity auction. All proceeds from the winning bids will be used to help children around the world.
According to UNICEF Korea on the 29th, the UNICEF 80th Anniversary Charity Auction Show, being organized with Seoul Auction, is scheduled to take place on Nov. 20 at Seoul Auction Gangnam Center.
The two organizations signed an agreement on the 21st to hold the event. It marks their second collaboration, following their first agreement in October last year.
The auction will feature artworks and collectibles donated by various artists, including Kim Sun-woo. The proceeds from the winning bids will be used to fund support for children through UNICEF Korea.
World Children's Day, when the event will be held, is a day to reflect on children's rights. November 20 marks the date on which the UN General Assembly adopted the Declaration of the Rights of the Child in 1959 and the Convention on the Rights of the Child in 1989.
Kim Sun-woo said, "The fact that a painting I created will be used to protect children's lives is deeply meaningful to me as an artist." He added, "I hope that through this charity auction show, many people who love art will join in sharing with children around the world."
Details about the auctioned works and how to participate will be announced at a later date.
