President Lee: "The ROK-U.S. Alliance is most important, but managing relations with China is also important"

[Financial News] President Lee Jae Myung said on the 28th, "The foremost goal of diplomacy is the national interest—in other words, national development and improving people's livelihoods," adding, "The ROK-U.S. Alliance is the most important aspect of diplomacy, but managing relations with China is also important."
President Lee made the remarks on X, formerly Twitter, while sharing data on trends in exports to China.
According to data posted by President Lee, the National Sovereignty government's average monthly exports to China totaled $15.1 billion, 36% higher than the Yoon Suk Yeol government's average monthly exports of $11 billion.
In this regard, President Lee said, "For the Republic of Korea, an open trading nation, exports are the most important factor in developing national industries and improving people's livelihoods."
He also reiterated his determination to accelerate policies aimed at improving people's livelihoods.
President Lee stated, "While doing my utmost to secure the drivers of economic recovery and sustained growth to improve economic conditions, I am also making every effort to ease social polarization. Once next year's budget begins to be implemented, people will start to feel its effects to a considerable extent, and living conditions will improve. I will also soon prepare drastic measures to resolve housing, jobs and debt problems."
