[Financial News] Seoul Metropolitan Government is presenting an outdoor dining date program on an autumn night as the second event of its singles-meeting program, 'SeoulTing 2.0.' After the Hangang Bus edition recorded a 56% match rate, the city will arrange meetings for 100 single men and women at Sangbong Food Alley. Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on the 28th that it will hold 'Seollem in Seoul: Yajang Edition' at Sangbong Food Alley in Jungnang-gu on the 23rd of next month. Applications will be accepted from the 30th through 5 p.m. on the 14th of next month.
Sangbong Food Alley is one of six locations selected by Seoul Metropolitan Government on the 14th as part of 'Seoul Moonlight Yajang,' a project aimed at revitalizing the nighttime economy. The event will feature restaurant experiences tailored to participants' tastes, two-on-two outdoor dining dates, and walks through the neighborhood.
A total of 100 people—50 men and 50 women—will be recruited. Single men and women aged 25 to 45 who are officially registered as Seoul residents may apply if they are economically active, including as office workers, sole proprietors, or freelancers. After verifying eligibility, participants will be selected by random draw and notified individually on the 19th of next month.
The 'Seollem in Seoul: Hangang Bus Edition,' held around Ttukseom Hangang Park on the 19th, attracted 2,370 applicants for 100 spots, resulting in a competition ratio of 23.7 to 1. A total of 28 pairs were matched at the event, producing a 56% match rate. In a participant satisfaction survey, 98.9% responded positively to holding regular singles-meeting events.
Seoul Metropolitan Government has held SeoulTing events five times since launching the first one in November 2024. The events have drawn a cumulative 13,854 applicants, with 126 pairs matched for a 50.4% match rate. The average competition ratio was 28 to 1, while the highest was 36 to 1.
Seoul Metropolitan Government plans to continue providing follow-up support by operating an open chat room for participants to interact after the event and sharing information about cultural programs, including performances and exhibitions.
Ma Chae-sook, head of Seoul Metropolitan Government's Women and Family Affairs Office, said, "Following the Hangang Bus edition, the Yajang edition was prepared to heighten the excitement of a first meeting while easing the pressure in the ambiance and relaxed atmosphere of an autumn night."
