Kangwon Land to Run 'Gildong Go's Unfamiliar Kangwon Land' Pop-Up in Hongdae

Kangwon Land said on the 28th that it will operate the '2026 Pop-Up Store in Hongdae—Gildong Go's Unfamiliar Kangwon Land' at Star Square in Hongdae, Mapo-gu, Seoul, from October 3 to 11.
The pop-up was conceived around the common ground between Gildong Go, a comic-book character who has devoted himself to his family but has been misunderstood as Korea's quintessential villain, and Kangwon Land, which is strongly associated with casinos. Through Gildong Go, the event aims to showcase Kangwon Land's diverse facilities, content and social contribution activities.
The pop-up store will feature eight interactive spaces, including the Ssangmun-dong Mansion from the comic, High1 Water World, High1 Ski Resort, an OX Quiz Zone, a guestbook zone and the Lucky Shop.
Visitors can complete missions in each space to experience Kangwon Land's facilities and content. They can also take photos using Gildong Go characters and Kangwon Land content placed throughout the venue. 
Kangwon Land CEO Kim Do-kyun said, "This pop-up was created to present Kangwon Land's diverse appeal and stories in a more familiar and entertaining way." He added, "We will continue to communicate more closely with the public through various promotional activities and establish ourselves as a company that is closer to the people."
