MOLIT Invites 32 Railway Professionals from 15 Countries, with Global Railway Training Program Laying Groundwork for K-Rail Contract Wins

[Financial News] The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT) is launching a training program that invites employees of overseas railway procuring agencies to Korea to teach them about the country's railway policies and technologies.
According to MOLIT on the 29th, it will hold a welcome ceremony for the 9th Global Railway Training Program on the 30th and begin the training.
The program gives government officials and other railway professionals from countries with strong potential for overseas expansion an opportunity to learn about Korea's railway policies and technologies. It will continue through August next year.
Since 2018, 232 people from 26 countries have participated in the program. For the ninth cohort, 71 people from 16 countries, including Mongolia, Southeast Asia, Central Asia, Africa and the Middle East, applied, and 32 people from 15 countries were selected. Over 12 months, the trainees will study railway management and policy, rolling stock, signaling systems and railway safety systems. They will also experience Korea's railways firsthand through tours of control centers and rides on high-speed trains.
MOLIT explained that the trainees serve as bridges to winning overseas railway projects by sharing railway policy and business trends from their home countries and connecting Korean companies with overseas procuring agencies. Since most participating countries have strong demand for expanding railway infrastructure, creating significant opportunities for Korean companies to enter those markets, the program is expected to help raise the brand value of K-Rail and increase contract wins.
The network formed through the Global Railway Training Program is a key foundation supporting K-Rail's expansion overseas," a MOLIT official said. "We will actively support our companies' entry into and winning of overseas railway projects by sharing railway policies with officials from major procuring agencies, including overseas government officials and public institutions, and strengthening these networks.
