"It's a shame, but... Bukang-i, it's time to go back now" Busan City to discuss "rescue measures" today

[Financial News] As Bukang-i, a shark, enters its 10th day since appearing at Bukhang Waterfront Park in Dong-gu, Busan, city authorities will hold a meeting today to discuss rescue measures.
According to the Busan Facilities Corporation, the cumulative number of visitors to the waterfront park from the 19th through the 27th totaled 568,800.
Bukang-i, whose name means "appeared at Bukhang," is a mutae shark measuring approximately 3.5 meters in length. The Busan Coast Guard discovered it on the 18th.
The news that people could see a wild shark that had entered an artificial waterway in the city on its own quickly turned Bukang-i into a nationwide attraction.
As a result, 101,000 people visited the waterfront park on the first day of the Chuseok holiday, the 24th; 136,000 the previous day; 140,000 on the 26th; and 106,000 on the 27th, bringing the total to 483,000.
During the holiday period, the Busan Coast Guard tried to guide Bukang-i out of the artificial waterway by having patrol boats conduct several patrols in the Bukhang waterway.
However, as Bukang-i's return to the sea was delayed, large crowds gathered. Concerns have also grown after people were seen making excessive noise, leaving trash, and throwing seafood into the water.
Accordingly, Busan City will hold a meeting on the afternoon of the 28th with relevant agencies, including the Busan Coast Guard, Busan Port Authority (BPA), and National Institute of Fisheries Science (NIFS), to discuss Bukang-i's movements and possible rescue measures.
At the first meeting held earlier, officials reportedly considered using vessels and nets to guide Bukang-i back to the sea.
The city also plans to discuss measures to ensure visitor safety.
