National Maritime Museum Obtains International Occupational Health and Safety Management Certification

[Financial News] The National Maritime Museum announced on the 28th that it had newly obtained ISO 45001 certification for its occupational health and safety management system from the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). ISO 45001 is an international standard for occupational health and safety established by ISO. It is a management system that verifies an organization’s occupational health and safety management system through a third-party audit and encourages continuous improvement.
The museum has operated its occupational health and safety management system by making the safety and health of its personnel a top priority and identifying and addressing workplace hazards in advance.
The certification audit reportedly focused on whether the museum’s occupational health and safety management procedures and risk assessment system were being properly implemented in the workplace.
Under the direct leadership of museum director Kim Jong-hae, the museum conducted a comprehensive review of its existing occupational health and safety management system during the certification process. It also upgraded its occupational health and safety management manual, procedures, and guidelines to meet international standards.
Through these efforts, the museum established a foundation for systematically supporting the safety and health of its personnel across its core operations, including academic research, exhibition production, artifact management, and education.
The museum plans to maintain and strengthen its certification system through regular surveillance audits. It will also continue its prevention-focused occupational health and safety management efforts by identifying and addressing hazards in advance.
