Rare-On Signs Official Licensing Agreement for the World-Renowned Wine Manga 'The Drops of God,' Launches Wine Collectible Card Business

[Financial News] Rare-On, a specialized trading card game (TCG) platform, is launching a collectible card business based on the intellectual property (IP) of the world-renowned wine manga 'The Drops of God.'
Rare-On announced on the 28th that it had signed an official licensing agreement for the IP of 'The Drops of God' and plans to introduce trading card games (TCGs) and collectible card products that reinterpret the wines, stories and iconic scenes featured in the series.
Rather than simply producing merchandise featuring the characters, Rare-On plans to reinterpret the wines, stories and iconic scenes from the series as card content, developing a new type of collectible product that allows consumers to enjoy both wine and the content surrounding it.

'The Drops of God' is a leading cultural content IP that has gained widespread popularity in South Korea and abroad through its wine-centered story and meticulously crafted fictional world. The series is regarded as having heightened public interest in wine by connecting its aromas, flavors, regions of origin and history with the stories depicted in the work.
Rare-On has so far developed an official collectible card business centered on domestic and international sports stars, including Roberto Carlos, Edmílson, Heo Jae, Hyun Jung-hwa and Lee Yong Dae. More recently, it signed an official licensing agreement for the Japanese animation IP 'Mighty Atom (Go Astro Boy Go!).'
With this agreement, Rare-On plans to expand its business beyond its previous focus on sports and animation into wine, gastronomy and cultural content. It aims to reach not only fans of the original work, but also wine enthusiasts and collectors.
Hwang Hyun-gi, CEO of Rare-On, said, "The Drops of God has strong potential as collectible content because it presents wine not simply as a beverage, but through the lens of history, culture and people's stories." He added, "We will bring the work's fictional world and stories to life in a new format through cards, offering products with collectible value to existing fans as well as new consumers interested in wine and collecting."
