Ulsan 119 Calls During Chuseok Holiday Down 13% Year-on-Year

[Financial News, Ulsan | Reporter Choi Soo-sang] The number of 119 emergency calls in Ulsan fell 13% year-on-year during the recent Chuseok holiday period.
According to Ulsan Fire Headquarters on the 28th, a total of 2,310 emergency calls were received in Ulsan during the six-day special emergency-duty period, from 6 p.m. on the 23rd to 9 a.m. on the 28th.
The daily average was 385 calls, down 13% from the 443-call average during the 2025 Chuseok holiday period, when special emergency duty lasted nine days and generated 3,988 calls. Rescue and daily-safety calls fell 26.9%, from a daily average of 52 to 38, while ambulance calls declined 4.3%, from 115 to 110.
By type, ambulance calls accounted for the largest share at 664, or 28.7%. These included 316 illness-related calls, 83 accident-related injuries, 26 traffic accidents and 239 other cases.
They were followed by 600 emergency medical consultations, including guidance on hospitals, clinics and pharmacies and first-aid instructions, accounting for 26%; 213 rescue and daily-safety calls, or 10%; and 15 fire calls, or 0.65%.
