【Hanoi, Vietnam—Kim Jun-seok, correspondent】More than 1,000 university students visited the 2026 Samsung Innovation Campus Tech Day (SIC Tech Day 2026), hosted by Samsung at Hanoi University of Industry in Vietnam, to experience advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), big data, the Internet of Things (IoT), and semiconductors.
According to local media reports on the 28th, Samsung Vietnam held the 2026 SIC Tech Day at HaUI in Vietnam on the 21st under the theme "Lead technology and break through to the future." The event was designed to give university students in Hanoi an opportunity to experience innovative technologies firsthand and interact with experts from various fields. Along with the 2026 SIC Tech Day scheduled to take place in Ho Chi Minh City, the event was held as part of Samsung Innovation Campus, Samsung's talent-development program for 2026.
More than 1,000 students from universities and educational institutions in Hanoi attended the event and toured dedicated experience zones covering four areas: AI, big data, IoT, and semiconductors. A special seminar held alongside the event drew more than 300 young people, who examined how the four key technologies are transforming everyday life and developed capabilities to prepare for the future.
In the AI zone, participants explored applications in healthcare, sports training, and smart homes through Galaxy AI. The IoT zone featured a mission in which participants controlled a robot within a 90-second time limit, while the big data zone introduced a smart-home model based on Samsung SmartThings. In the semiconductor zone, participants used virtual reality (VR) devices to simulate the chip manufacturing process and gain an intuitive understanding of semiconductor circuit structures.
Since it was first introduced in Vietnam in 2019, Samsung Innovation Campus has operated AI, IoT, and big data courses for students and teachers. Over the past eight years, it has strengthened the technology capabilities of thousands of people at educational institutions across Vietnam.
In particular, Samsung plans to train more than 2,200 university and college students across Vietnam in 2026. This year, semiconductors will be introduced into the curriculum for the first time, alongside introductory, basic, and advanced courses as well as a Train-the-Trainer (ToT) program. The initiative is intended to actively support the Vietnamese government's goal of training 50,000 semiconductor engineers by 2030.
Samsung has also been expanding its SIC labs alongside its educational programs since 2026. SIC labs are currently installed and operating in four locations: Hanoi, Da Nang, Bac Ninh, and Thai Nguyen. Samsung Electronics plans to continue expanding SIC courses with a stronger focus on practical and advanced training, narrowing the gap between educational institutions and workforce demand in industry.
