[Financial News] Kim Do-young, CEO-designate of Kakao X, has been appointed co-chair of Kakao's CA Council.
Kakao Group said on the 28th that it held a group council meeting and appointed Kim Do-young, CEO-designate of Kakao X, as co-chair of the CA Council following a resolution by the CEOs of its partner companies. Kim will lead the CA Council alongside Chair Shina Chung.
The decision is intended to strengthen continuity in key decision-making and enhance organizational stability ahead of the spin-off. Until the spin-off, the two co-chairs will jointly make key decisions and work to improve group-wide coordination and execution.
A Kakao official said, "This co-chair system is intended to secure group-wide continuity and ensure systematic execution during this important transition ahead of the spin-off," adding, "Kakao will closely manage the preparations for the spin-off through task forces focused on each area and do its utmost to ensure a stable transition."
Meanwhile, Kakao has established task forces comprising key departments, including technology, finance and human resources, in preparation for the spin-off. It is systematically preparing for the transition by reviewing various operational tasks step by step. Kakao is also maintaining ongoing communication by holding offline briefings for crew members and operating separate channels for questions, while addressing their concerns about the spin-off.
