[Financial News] Bitcoin has been fluctuating while holding at around $84,000.
According to CoinMarketCap, a global digital-asset information platform, Bitcoin was trading at around $84,000 as of 10:25 a.m. on the 22nd, down 0.31% from the previous day based on the past 24 hours.
Bitcoin was trading at around 114 million won in the Korean won market. The Korea premium stood at -0.23%, according to Cryprice, a global platform that compares digital-asset market conditions.
After briefly rising to around $87,000 on the 23rd, Bitcoin has remained in the $83,000–$84,000 range. This marked the first time Bitcoin had surpassed the $80,000 level in four months, since May.
Markets are looking forward to 'Uptober.' The term combines 'up,' meaning a rise, with 'October.' It was coined after Bitcoin posted gains in October for six consecutive years from 2019 through 2024. Last year, however, Bitcoin plunged after setting a record high amid rising U.S.-China trade tensions.
Expectations are growing that the rally will continue through October this year, driven in part by moves toward a regulatory framework for digital assets. Lee Jun-ho, a researcher at Hana Securities, explained, "As the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) signal that they are using their existing authority to push ahead with regulations on tokenized stocks, derivatives and trading markets, the market appears to be interpreting the delay in the CLARITY Act as not a retreat for the industry."
The Crypto Fear & Greed Index provided by CoinMarketCap stood at 71 on the day, indicating 'greed.' The index ranges from 0 to 100: readings closer to 0 are interpreted as 'extreme fear,' while those closer to 100 indicate 'extreme greed.'
At the same time, Ethereum was trading at around $2,673, down 0.72% from the previous day. Ripple (XRP) was trading at around $1.51, down 0.29%.
