Korea National Railway to Hire 184 New Employees in the Second Half of the Year, Expanding Hiring of Young People and for Social Equity

[Financial News] Korea National Railway said on the 28th that it will hire a total of 184 people in the second half of 2026, including 103 new and experienced employees and 80 experiential youth interns. The recruitment drive will focus on expanding employment opportunities for young people, promoting socially equitable hiring that considers disadvantaged groups, and strengthening practical expertise.
 The positions will include 46 at the college graduate level (office administration, civil engineering, architecture, electrical engineering, telecommunications, and mechanical engineering), four for people with disabilities, six for veterans, 11 for high school graduates, 12 experienced positions (law, tax, labor relations, and other fields), 24 practical positions (security for national critical facilities, facilities management, and cleaning), one contract position (a commissioned researcher for a national R&D project), and 80 experiential youth internships.
 In particular, Korea National Railway will operate separate selection tracks for people with disabilities and veterans. It also plans to provide job opportunities across diverse groups by hiring for security and cleaning positions, occupations in which near-elderly and elderly workers receive priority for employment.
 Applications will be accepted online through the Korea National Railway recruitment website from the 30th of this month through the 7th of next month. Final successful candidates are expected to be announced in December after document screening, written tests, and interviews.
 Jeong Jin-hyeok, president of Korea National Railway, said, "We look forward to receiving applications from many talented people with expertise, innovative thinking, and communication skills." He added, "We will continue to do our utmost to build a foundation for young people to grow and create quality jobs."
 Meanwhile, the recruitment drive comes as demand for field specialists has surged with large-scale railway infrastructure projects, including extensions of Great Train eXpress (GTX) lines in the Seoul metropolitan area and nationwide railway network expansion projects, entering full swing. Korea National Railway plans to assign the new hires to major railway construction and facilities management sites across the country to strengthen railway safety and accelerate the development of next-generation smart railway systems.
