[Financial News Chuncheon = Reporter Kim Ki-seop] Chuncheon Love Gift Certificates, used when ordering food via delivery apps, will be released at a 15% discount rate, which is 5 percentage points higher than regular gift certificates.
According to Chuncheon on the 28th, the city will pilot the issuance of "Ttaenggyeoyo-exclusive Chuncheon Love Gift Certificates," which can only be used on the public delivery app "Ttaenggyeoyo," for three months starting October 1. The issuance scale is 100 million won per month, totaling 300 million won, and sales will be conducted on a first-come, first-served basis starting at 10:00 a.m. on the 1st of every month.
Gift certificates can be purchased through mobile Chuncheon Love Gift Certificate sales apps such as Zero Pay, and each person can purchase up to 100,000 won per month. The purchased gift certificates can be used as a payment method when placing delivery or takeout orders at Chuncheon Love Gift Certificate affiliated stores listed on the 'Ttaenggyeoyo' app.
In conjunction with the issuance of gift certificates, additional benefits will be provided for the two months of October and November. Users of 'Ttaenggyeoyo' can download and use a 3,000 won discount coupon from the app and receive support for delivery fees of up to 3,000 won.
"Ttaenggyeoyo," operated by Shinhan Bank, is a public delivery platform that eases the burden on small business owners by offering a low 2% commission and fast settlements. The city has been supporting the platform's active use through measures such as issuing delivery fee coupons and operating promotional booths. Furthermore, the city plans to analyze the consumption-boosting effects, changes in merchant sales, and user convenience during this pilot issuance period to review whether to issue dedicated vouchers on a permanent basis starting next year.
"As the discount rate has been increased by 5 percentage points compared to general gift certificates, citizens will be able to order delivery food more easily, and small business owners will be able to increase sales with a low commission of 2%," said a Chuncheon official. "We will carefully evaluate the results of the pilot operation to ensure that the local currency and public delivery app properly contribute to the local economy."
