[Financial News] Chabot Mobility said on the 28th that it is recruiting the first cohort of its Carfluencer program, a car-tech ambassador initiative that turns interest in automobiles and driving experience into content and links performance to earnings.
Carfluencer combines the words "car" and "influencer." Through the program, Chabot aims to promote the car-tech concept that sharing stories about automobiles can create new value beyond helping people buy and maintain vehicles wisely. Participants' firsthand driving experiences and vehicle-maintenance tips can help other consumers make better choices, while the creators receive rewards for their content.
Five people will be selected for the first cohort. From October through December, participants will produce four pieces of content each month, covering automotive topics that interest them or that they have experienced firsthand, such as comparisons between new vehicles and competing models, quotes and financing terms, criteria for choosing window tinting, and vehicle-maintenance methods.
Carfluencers will receive rewards based on their performance. When a customer brought in through their content submits a qualifying service application, the participant will earn 10,000 Chabot points per case. If the customer makes an actual purchase, the participant will receive an additional 5% of the final payment amount. One top performer each month will also receive 200,000 points. Accumulated points can be used like cash at the Chabot platform's points mall.
All selected participants will also have the opportunity to test-drive the authentic off-roader INEOS Grenadier for three days. The top performer, chosen through a comprehensive evaluation of the three-month program, will receive a separate award and priority consideration for roles as an official Chabot creator and mentor for the next cohort.
Applicants must be interested in automobiles and mobility and operate a public social media channel or blog. There is no restriction on channel size. Applications will be accepted through October 6, and the selection results are scheduled to be announced on October 15.
A Chabot Mobility representative said, "The experience gained from choosing and driving a car is the most reliable information for helping other consumers make better choices." The representative added, "Starting with Carfluencer, we will build a car-tech culture in which consumers' experiences become trustworthy content and their influence leads to tangible results for creators."
