"Buy Six-Year-Old Fresh Ginseng at a Bargain" Discount Sales at Hongcheon Ginseng & Hanwoo Myeongpum Festival

[Financial News | Hongcheon = Kim Gi-seop, Reporter] Visitors to this year's Hongcheon Ginseng & Hanwoo Myeongpum Festival will be able to add Hongcheon's recently more expensive six-year-old fresh ginseng to their shopping baskets at a lower cost.
According to Hongcheon County on the 28th, discounted sales of fresh ginseng will be offered at the festival's ginseng sales booth as the 24th Hongcheon Ginseng & Hanwoo Myeongpum Festival takes place for four days from Oct. 8 to 11 around Tori Forest Urban Park in Hongcheon-eup.
To fund the program, the county allocated 150 million won in its second supplementary budget. The move is intended to encourage consumers who have hesitated to buy ginseng because of rising prices to open their wallets with the support of the discounts.
Discounted fresh ginseng sales already proved effective at last year's festival. Hongcheon County invested 120 million won at the time and sold more than 10 tons of fresh ginseng, receiving an enthusiastic response from visitors. This year's support has increased by 30 million won, or 25%, raising expectations that more consumers will benefit from the discounts.
The county plans to use this year's discount sales as an opportunity to promote the quality of Hongcheon's six-year-old ginseng, a signature local specialty. It also intends to make thorough preparations for sales during the period remaining before the festival opens.
A Hongcheon County official said, "We increased the support from last year so that even those who found it difficult to buy ginseng because prices had risen can purchase high-quality six-year-old fresh ginseng at an affordable price at the festival. We will make this a festival where consumers can shop economically and growers can expand their sales outlets."
