[Financial News] 3billion, Lunit, VUNO and other medical artificial intelligence (AI)-related stocks are rallying together in early trading. Expectations for business expansion by individual companies, including participation in the development of treatments for rare diseases and entry into overseas markets, are believed to have boosted investor sentiment.
According to the Korea Exchange (KRX), 3billion was trading at 7,190 won at 9:46 a.m. on the 28th, up 1,390 won, or 23.97%, from the previous trading day. Lunit was up 1,810 won, or 18.45%, at 11,620 won, while VUNO was trading at 6,510 won, up 940 won, or 16.88%.
3billion was recently selected as a joint research and development institution for a rare-disease treatment development project under ARIZ, South Korea's version of ARPA-H. On the news, the company's shares also closed 17.95% higher on the 23rd.
VUNO is stepping up its entry into the China market with medical AI solutions for cardiac arrest prediction and fundus image analysis. The company has established a foundation for business expansion by signing a sales agreement with a local healthcare company and completing the integration of its products with medical platforms.
Lunit offers Lunit INSIGHT, which assists in reading cancer diagnostic images, and Lunit SCOPE, an AI biomarker solution related to cancer treatment. The company is expanding its business from AI-based cancer detection and diagnosis into predicting treatment response.
