[Financial News] A weeklong program offering various career support services to prevent career interruptions among middle-aged and older residents in Busan will be held.


The Busan Regional Employment and Labor Office announced that it will hold the 'Busan Career Support Event for Middle-Aged and Older People' from the 28th through the 2nd to mark 'Middle-Aged and Older Employment Emphasis Week.' The event will offer opportunities to work in jobs suited to this age group.
This year's Middle-Aged and Older Employment Emphasis Week will highlight the need for middle-aged and older people to actively participate in various career support services available in the region, including career planning, work experience and vocational training. The initiative aims to promote the positive perception that career development and creating new career paths are essential choices for middle-aged and older people in an era of lifelong career development.
The Busan Career Support Event for Middle-Aged and Older People will be organized mainly by the Busan Employment Center and the Middle-Aged and Older Tomorrow Centers, which operate a middle-aged and older employment network. Regional agencies will work together to identify suitable jobs, strengthen skills and provide job placement services tailored to industries targeting middle-aged and older workers.
For example, the Busan Bukbu Employment Center will hold a 'Special Lecture on Employment in the Shipbuilding and Marine Industry' on the 29th. On the 1st of next month, the Busan Employers Federation Middle-Aged and Older Tomorrow Center will host '4050 Job Experience Day,' while the Busan Middle-Aged and Older Tomorrow Center will hold a 'Briefing on Yard Tractor Operator Jobs: Maritime Jobs Connecting to Tomorrow.'
In Ulsan, the 'Employment Lecture on Resumes Tailored to Middle-Aged and Older Workers' will be held at the Ulsan Dongbu Employment Center on the 28th. This will be followed on the 30th by 'Career Bridge: A Job Transition Project for Middle-Aged and Older Workers in the Region's Key Industries' at the Ulsan Middle-Aged and Older Tomorrow Center, and on the 1st of next month by a 'Special Lecture on Using AI for Middle-Aged and Older People' at the Ulsan-Yangsan Employers Federation Middle-Aged and Older Tomorrow Center.
In Gyeongnam, the Korea Career Middle-Aged and Older Tomorrow Center will host a 'Special Lecture on Using AI for Middle-Aged and Older People' and 'Job Demand Day' on the 28th. On the 29th, Yangsan Employment Center, Yangsan-si, the Gyeongnam Employers Federation Middle-Aged and Older Tomorrow Center and the Gyeongnam Happy Tomorrow Center will jointly hold a 'Job Seekers and Employers Meeting Day.'
Lee Chang-gil, head of the Busan Regional Employment and Labor Office, said, "We will promote reemployment by providing a comprehensive package of support through the middle-aged and older employment network, from identifying jobs suitable for middle-aged and older people to lifelong career planning, training, work experience, job placement and incentive support." He added, "We hope many people will take an interest in this regionally tailored career support event for middle-aged and older people during the 21st Middle-Aged and Older Employment Emphasis Week."
