Hana Financial Group Builds '5G Smart Office' at Cheongna Headquarters with SKT and Samsung Electronics

[Financial News] Hana Financial Group is partnering with SK Telecom and Samsung Electronics to build a smart office using a private 5G network at its group headquarters in Cheongna International City, Incheon. The initiative marks the first application of a private 5G network to an actual business network in the financial sector and aims to transform the way people work.
On the 28th, Hana Financial Group announced that Hana TI, together with SKT and Samsung Electronics, had established a group-wide smart office using a private 5G network for its actual business network—the first such application in the financial sector.
Hana TI oversaw the creation of a private 5G network-based work environment spanning all 16 floors, from the basement level to the 15th floor above ground, at the Cheongna headquarters. The network will be available to approximately 3,000 employees of the group's affiliates. SKT handled the design and technical support for the private 5G network, its integration with the business network, and the establishment of security and integrated monitoring systems. Samsung Electronics supplied key communications equipment and participated in technical collaboration to build a stable network.
Employees working at Hana Financial Group's Cheongna headquarters will be able to choose their workspaces based on their tasks rather than being tied to fixed desks. The private 5G network-based smart office allows them to move freely between spaces according to their work objectives.
Hana Financial Group said, "Project members will be able to gather in one space and collaborate in real time, while office space can be flexibly rearranged as the organization changes. We expect this to improve work efficiency in a much more creative environment."
Hana TI has completed its registration as a telecommunications business operator to provide stable communications services to multiple group affiliates. Using dedicated spectrum and numbers allocated by the Ministry of Science and ICT, it directly manages the entire group-dedicated communications network—from network construction and service operation to quality management, incident response, and security.
Because the network will be used for financial services, considerable effort was made to ensure security. A dedicated business network separate from external networks was established, and access was limited to authorized users and work devices in compliance with financial security regulations. This has improved the mobility and convenience of the workplace while ensuring the security and stability required for financial operations.

Meanwhile, the Hana Financial Group Cheongna headquarters, where this project was launched, is the final piece of the large-scale Hana Financial Town project. Hana Financial Group established an integrated group data center in Cheongna International City in 2017 and the Hana Global Campus there in 2019. Construction of the Cheongna headquarters was completed this year, and employees of Hana Financial Group, Hana Bank, and eight other affiliates have been moving in sequentially since this month.
