Busan Education Office Accelerates Busan-Style Integration of Early Childhood Education and Care in Partnership with Local Governments

[Financial News] In line with the government's drive to integrate early childhood education and care, the Busan Metropolitan City Office of Education will dispatch education administration officials to five local governments, including Busanjin District, beginning next month to strengthen practical cooperation. The integration policy seeks to merge kindergartens, which provide early childhood education, with daycare centers, which provide childcare, so that children can receive high-quality education and care regardless of which type of institution they attend.
The Busan Metropolitan City Office of Education announced on the 28th that it plans to assign one Grade 7 education administration official each to Busanjin District, Dongnae District, Suyeong District, Gangseo District and Gijang County from October 1 through December 31, 2027.
The officials will handle childcare-related work and tasks related to the integration of early childhood education and care in the respective districts' and county's departments responsible for childcare. Their specific duties will be determined through consultations between the education office and the relevant local governments.
Through the dispatch, the education office plans to assess the status and conditions of childcare services in each area and gather feedback from the field. It will also strengthen practical cooperation with local governments and lay the groundwork for the stable transfer of childcare responsibilities in the future.
