[Financial News]   DK-Lok, a specialist in semiconductor fittings and valves, has entered the supply chain of global semiconductor equipment makers.
The company is expanding beyond conventional installation fittings and valves into high-value components mounted directly on equipment. This is expected to accelerate improvements in its semiconductor business's product mix.
DK-Lok said on the 28th that it had recently obtained final quality qualification from global semiconductor equipment maker A. After passing the global equipment maker's quality audit based on its experience supplying domestic semiconductor customers, the company established a foundation for expanding its supply of components for overseas equipment.
Since 2024, DK-Lok has conducted process testing of Hastelloy fittings and diaphragm valves used in Samsung Electronics' Gas and Chemical System (GCS), completing the testing in December last year. The products were adopted for C's gas cabinets and are also being supplied for Samsung Electronics' FT utility piping.
The key point in this qualification is the products' application range. As semiconductor processes shrink to 3 nanometers (nm) or below, the importance of highly corrosion-resistant and ultra-clean components that can reliably control corrosive gases used in etching and deposition processes is growing.
In response, DK-Lok is expanding its product lineup beyond Hastelloy fittings and valves to include regulators, filters, and Integrated Gas System (IGS) equipment.
The company has completed the domestic development and manufacturing of key components that make up an IGS, from fittings and valves to filters. It is now conducting final process testing for domestic and overseas semiconductor equipment.
DK-Lok's IGS panels are being tested on equipment deployed in new HBM, memory, and NAND flash memory lines. The company aims to complete the relevant testing by the end of this year and begin mass-production application and supply of IGS in the first quarter of 2027.
Industry observers view entry into the equipment-component market as a potential turning point for DK-Lok's semiconductor business. Components mounted directly on equipment require more stringent entry procedures, including quality qualification and customer testing, than installation products, but they generally offer higher added value. If mass-production supply of IGS becomes a reality, it could bolster not only the semiconductor division's scale but also its product mix.
Noh Eun-sik, CEO of DK-Lok, emphasized, "By obtaining qualification from a global semiconductor equipment maker, we have had the competitiveness of our ultra-high-purity fluid control technology recognized. We will pursue qualitative growth in our semiconductor business by expanding the application range of high-performance Hastelloy products and equipment components."
