KATSEYE Makes Its SNL Debut in the U.S., Vies for Awards in Four MTV VMA Categories Today

[Financial News] HYBE-Geffen Records' global girl group KATSEYE kicked off the new season of the U.S. program Saturday Night Live (SNL) in spectacular fashion.
According to HYBE on the 28th, KATSEYE showcased its versatility on the program, a symbol of American pop culture, delivering powerful performances as well as taking on comedic roles.
KATSEYE appeared as the musical guest on the season 52 premiere of the popular U.S. NBC program SNL, which aired on the 27th (Korea time).
Making their first appearance on the program since debuting, the group performed "Animal," the pre-release single from its third EP, WILD, along with the title track "Hootie Frutti."
The group also made a strong impression in a comedy sketch. KATSEYE appeared in "Dream Academy: Season 2," a parody of "The Debut: Dream Academy," the program that created the group. This time, the members played judges selecting members for a girl group and drew laughs with their deadpan performances as they earnestly cheered on awkward and eccentric contestants.
Riding that momentum, KATSEYE will vie for awards at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards (VMA), taking place today (local time, the 27th). The group has been nominated in four categories: "Best Group," "Song of Summer," "Best K-Pop," and "Best Choreography."
At the end of the year, KATSEYE will also join the 2026 iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Tour, a major U.S. music festival. The group is part of this year's lineup alongside Olivia Rodrigo, Jonas Brothers, Hilary Duff, Alex Warren, and Charlie Puth. KATSEYE will take the stage in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex on December 1, the opening date of Jingle Ball.
