Kim Sung-jung, Former First Vice Governor for Administrative Affairs of Gyeonggi Province, Takes Office as Incheon's 24th Administrative Vice Mayor

【Financial News Incheon — Reporter Han Gap-su】 Kim Sung-jung, former First Vice Governor for Administrative Affairs of Gyeonggi Province, took office as the 24th Administrative Vice Mayor of Incheon Metropolitan City and joined Incheon's ninth popularly elected administration. Incheon Metropolitan City Government announced on the 28th that its newly appointed Administrative Vice Mayor, Kim Sung-jung, had taken office that day and begun his official duties.
Kim entered public service after passing the 39th Higher Civil Service Examination. He went on to serve as chief secretary in the minister's office at the Ministry of Government Administration and Home Affairs, a senior administrative officer in the Personnel Secretary's Office of the Office of the President of the Republic of Korea, and director general for organizational policy and disaster response policy at the Ministry of the Interior and Safety. He also served as Administrative Vice Governor of Jeju Special Self-Governing Province and First Vice Governor for Administrative Affairs of Gyeonggi Province, gaining extensive experience in key administrative functions at both the central and local government levels.
With experience across local administration and policy and organizational management expertise developed in central government ministries, he is expected to contribute to the stable operation of Incheon's ninth popularly elected administration.
Considering that the position of Administrative Vice Mayor had been vacant for about three months, Kim did not hold a separate inauguration ceremony. He began his official duties immediately after receiving his letter of appointment, including attending briefings on city administration.
Kim Sung-jung said, "Based on my diverse experience and know-how in public service, including at central government ministries and local governments, I will do my utmost with a strong sense of responsibility in taking on the important role of being the first Administrative Vice Mayor of the ninth popularly elected administration."
