President Lee Jae Myung's Job Approval Rating at 37.9%, Rising for Second Straight Week [Realmeter]

[Financial News] A poll released on the 28th found that President Lee Jae Myung's positive job-performance rating had risen for the second consecutive week.
In a poll conducted by Realmeter among 1,508 people aged 18 or older nationwide from the 21st to the 23rd at the request of Energy Economy Newspaper, President Lee's positive job-performance rating stood at 37.9%. That was a 3.1-percentage-point increase from the previous poll.
By contrast, the negative assessment fell 3.3 percentage points from the previous week to 60.1%. Those who answered "Don't know" accounted for 2.0%.
President Lee's job approval rating continued its upward trend in this poll after turning upward in the previous poll for the first time in 10 weeks.
Realmeter attributed the rise in the approval rating to "the positive impact of his efforts to communicate with the public through a news conference, as well as overseas diplomacy during trips including the United Nations General Assembly and the South Korea–United States summit." It also said that moves toward personnel changes, including Justice Minister nominee Kim Seung-won's voluntary withdrawal and Chief of Staff Kang Hoon-sik's expression of his intention to resign, affected positive assessments.
In the party support poll, the People Power Party was again ahead of the Democratic Party of Korea within the margin of error after two weeks.
A Realmeter poll of 1,005 voters aged 18 or older nationwide conducted from the 22nd to the 23rd found that support for the People Power Party stood at 39.4%, while support for the Democratic Party of Korea was 38.7%.
Compared with the previous poll, support for the People Power Party rose 0.9 percentage points, while support for the Democratic Party of Korea fell 1.5 percentage points.
Support for the Rebuilding Korea Party (RKP), which had risen for five consecutive weeks, fell 1.2 percentage points from the previous poll to 4.0%. The Reform Party stood at 2.9%, and the Progressive Party at 1.4%. Other parties accounted for 3.3%, while 10.2% had no party preference.
The margin of sampling error for the presidential job-performance poll was ±2.5 percentage points at a 95% confidence level, and the response rate was 3.8%. For the party support poll, the margin of sampling error was ±3.1 percentage points at a 95% confidence level, and the response rate was 3.5%.
