Daegu Metropolitan City to Add 1,691 Electric and Other Eco-Friendly Vehicles

[Financial News, Daegu—Kim Jang-wook, Reporter] Daegu Metropolitan City will provide additional subsidies for 1,691 eco-friendly vehicles, including electric and hydrogen vehicles.
The subsidies will cover 1,680 electric vehicles—1,100 passenger vehicles, 500 commercial vehicles and 80 small vans—and 11 hydrogen fuel-cell passenger vehicles.
The city has supported a total of 6,250 vehicles so far this year through its eco-friendly vehicle deployment program.
To fund the additional support and expand the deployment of eco-friendly vehicles, the city earmarked KRW 17.7 billion in its supplementary budget.
Mayor Choo Kyung-ho emphasized, "We will continue to promote Daegu’s transition to eco-friendly mobility."
Applicants must be residents who have lived in Daegu for at least 90 days as of the application date.
Applications will be accepted from October through the Integrated Zero-Emission Vehicle Website, with applications processed by vehicle type.
Meanwhile, applications for electric passenger and commercial vehicles closed within a single day in each of the three previous subsidy rounds, indicating continued strong consumer demand.
