[Financial News] NH NongHyup Financial Group is linking customers' everyday health practices, such as quitting smoking, walking and undergoing health checkups, to financial benefits.
According to financial industry sources on the 27th, major affiliates of NH NongHyup Financial Group have launched five "health-enhancing financial products" in line with the government's prevention- and health management-oriented health policies.
NH NongHyup Insurance's NH All-One-derful Bareun Treatment Insurance, launched last April, covers major treatment costs for diseases including cancer, brain disorders, heart disease and dementia. It also offers premium discounts to customers who participate in social activities such as quitting smoking, donating blood, completing senior college and volunteering. Known as the "social activity participation discount program," the initiative expands the scope of health promotion from physical health to social health. More than 13,000 policies were sold within five months of its launch.
NH Savings Bank's NH FIC Olbareun Jigu Regular Savings Account offers preferential interest rates to customers who practice health management, such as quitting smoking, and make an eco-friendly pledge. Sales initially ended after the quota was filled, but the product was relaunched on the 9th in response to customer demand, with an annual interest rate of up to 6.0% and a limit of 800 accounts.
NH Capital offers customers with auto collateral loans preferential interest rates of 0.1 percentage points for each of three activities—walking, health checkups and quitting smoking—for a maximum benefit of 0.3 percentage points.
With exercise and running gaining popularity, the group has also introduced specialized products that reflect customers' preferences and lifestyles.
NH NongHyup Life launched Undong Ssook NHe Injury Care Insurance, which covers injuries such as fractures and cartilage damage that may occur during exercise. Nonghyup Bank also introduced the zgm Running Card last September, offering runner-tailored benefits such as discounts on CU beverages during designated hours and sports equipment. It is also promoting a healthy exercise culture through an event offering entry tickets for the 10-kilometer race at the 2026 Asia Open Marathon.
NH NongHyup Financial Group plans to continue expanding its products and services around "finance that supports healthy living."
In response to rapid population aging, the group plans to actively recognize social participation activities—including education at dementia care centers and cultural classes at welfare centers—as health-promoting factors alongside physical health. In the first half of next year, it plans to introduce additional products that offer premium discounts based on participation in social activities and coverage for senior-related diseases.
Lee Chan-woo, chairman of NH NongHyup Financial Group, said, "Pursuing healthy and meaningful lives for our customers is the direction NH NongHyup Financial Group should take." He added, "We will continue to strengthen finance that supports customers' health and improves their quality of life, leveraging our nationwide branch network."
