[Financial News] As more consumers seek value for money and filling portions amid high prices, CU's Triple Triangle Gimbap, which combines three flavors, is gaining popularity.
According to industry sources on the 27th, CU's Triple Triangle Gimbap, introduced as part of its Level-Up ready-to-eat meal lineup, is gaining traction as it aligns with the value-for-money trend.
Ahead of the new semester season, CU began rolling out Level-Up ready-to-eat meals at the end of last month to enhance the competitiveness of its major ready-to-eat offerings. After introducing value-for-money lunchbox products such as the Deundeuk Double Set Meal and Triple Set Meal, the company added Triple Triangle Gimbap, which allows customers to enjoy three flavors at once.
Triple Triangle Gimbap not only offers three flavors in one product but is also 300 won cheaper than buying the three items separately.
CU developed Triple Triangle Gimbap because demand has recently grown noticeably for triangle gimbap that offers both a filling portion and a reasonable price.
In fact, from January through August this year, Big Triangle Gimbap accounted for more than 50% of CU's total triangle gimbap sales for the first time.
As demand has emerged for products that offer better value by increasing portion sizes and bundling multiple items, CU is significantly expanding its product lineup.
A discount event will also be held next month. Customers who scan their Pocket CU membership QR code and pay with Kakao Pay Money will receive 40% off all triangle gimbap products, with benefits of up to 3,000 won per transaction.
Kim Gwang-min, an MD on BGF Retail's ready-to-eat food team, said, "In line with our 'Level-Up' ready-to-eat meal strategy, which raises the competitiveness of existing popular products by one notch, we diversified portion sizes and product combinations and launched the reasonably priced Triple Triangle Gimbap. We will continue introducing differentiated ready-to-eat meals that reflect customers' increasingly segmented demands and preferences."
