Magnitude 2.6 Earthquake Strikes Southwest of Buyeo County: "Shaking Felt Nearby"

[Financial News]  An earthquake with a magnitude of 2.6 struck near Buyeo County in South Chungcheong Province on the morning of Sept. 27. A maximum intensity of 4 was recorded in South Chungcheong Province, strong enough for many people indoors to feel the shaking. Shaking with an intensity of 3 was also detected in North Jeolla Province. 
According to the Korean Meteorological Administration, the earthquake occurred at 11:28:44 a.m. on Sept. 27 in an area 9 kilometers southwest of Buyeo County in South Chungcheong Province. The epicenter was located at 36.21 degrees north latitude and 126.85 degrees east longitude, at a depth of 15 kilometers.
The instrumental intensity was measured at a maximum of 4 in South Chungcheong Province and 3 in North Jeolla Province. An intensity of 4 is strong enough for many people indoors to feel the shaking, while dishes and windows may rattle. At an intensity of 3, people on upper floors of buildings can feel the shaking distinctly, and stationary vehicles may shake slightly. 
The Korean Meteorological Administration urged people to exercise caution, saying, "Seismic vibrations may be felt in areas near the earthquake, so please pay attention to your safety."
