[Financial News] Samsung Electronics has created an interactive space at a Korean Wave content event in Mexico, showcasing connected experiences across smartphones, TVs and home appliances.
Samsung Electronics said on the 27th that it participated in the 2026 Mexico K-Expo, held from the 24th to the 27th at the Mexico City World Trade Center. Hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) and organized by the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA), the event introduced Korean cultural content, including K-pop, games, video, beauty, fashion and food.
At its booth, Samsung Electronics demonstrated Galaxy AI, the Vision AI Companion for TVs and the device connectivity platform Samsung SmartThings. Visitors could experience smartphones, TVs, monitors, wearable devices and home appliances alongside the event's content. The exhibition focused not only on individual product features but also on the connected functions available when the products are used together.
Visitors used the real-time interpretation feature on the Galaxy Z series and took photos and videos or created content. The Vision AI Companion built into Samsung's 2026 TVs was introduced as a feature that uses conversational AI to provide information related to the content being watched and recommend other content. Samsung SmartThings enabled visitors to connect Galaxy devices, TVs and Bespoke AI appliances, control the devices and check energy usage.
The booth was divided into a K-pop bar, streamer studio, TV room, gaming zone and wellness zone. The K-pop bar and streamer studio showcased music-listening and content-creation features using the Galaxy Z series and Galaxy AI.
The TV room featured Micro RGB TVs and Samsung The Frame Pro, allowing visitors to watch K-dramas and performance videos and view works of art. A 49-inch Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 monitor was installed in the gaming zone. In the wellness zone, Samsung demonstrated how the Galaxy Watch9 can be linked with Samsung Health to check activity levels and sleep patterns.
Yoon Ho-yong, managing director and head of Samsung Electronics' Mexico subsidiary, said, "The 2026 Mexico K-Expo was a venue where Samsung Electronics' AI and hyperconnected ecosystem met the K-culture fandom in Latin America." He added, "We will continue expanding our products and services so that more people can conveniently experience cultural content and their daily lives."
