LG Electronics Named NVIDIA's Official Partner for AI Data Center Cooling

[Financial News] LG Electronics has joined NVIDIA's official partner program as a partner in the data center cooling sector. The move is expected to accelerate the company's push into the global AI data center cooling solutions market.
LG Electronics said on the 27th that it had been listed as a Preferred partner in the Power and Cooling sector of NPN.
NPN is a partner program in which companies from the hardware, software, services and infrastructure sectors participate based on NVIDIA's AI computing platform. NVIDIA connects the products and services of participating companies with customers building data centers and AI factories. Partners can receive technical collaboration as well as sales and marketing support.
LG Electronics expects the listing to create more opportunities to offer its chillers and coolant distribution units (CDUs) to data center customers using NVIDIA technology. It also anticipates that its cooling equipment may be considered during the planning and design stages of data centers. As AI servers generate more heat, cooling methods have become an element that must be considered from the early stages of data center design.
LG Electronics previously announced that it was the first South Korean company to meet NVIDIA's requirements for specification approval of 600 kW and 1 MW-class CDUs. Its 2.5 MW-class CDU also received approval under NVIDIA's AI Factory specifications and was recognized as an "NVIDIA DSX Platform-ready CDU" product. LG Electronics expects the partner program listing, combined with its record of product approvals, to support its sales efforts targeting large-scale data center customers.
LG Electronics plans to expand its business among hyperscale cloud providers and data center leasing companies in North America. The company explained that more than 60% of global demand for new data center capacity is concentrated in North America.
LG Electronics entered the data center cooling market in 2011 and has supplied air-cooled and water-cooled chillers. More recently, it has expanded its product portfolio to include liquid cooling solutions that directly cool the heat generated by chips in AI servers. The chillers produce the coolant, the CDUs distribute it, and cold plates absorb heat from the chips.
The company highlights its ability to supply chillers, CDUs and cold plates as an integrated package. It also offers power redundancy and temperature control to approximately ±0.25°C as specifications for data center cooling equipment.
Lee Jaesung, president and head of LG Electronics' ES Business Division, explained, "Being listed in the NVIDIA Partner Network is a meaningful achievement that demonstrates to the global market that LG Electronics' thermal management technology is an optimal solution for next-generation AI data center infrastructure."
