"Head to the Library This Fall"... Gwangju Metropolitan City Libraries Operate Various Cultural and Arts Programs for "October Culture Month"

 Mudeung Library, Sansu Library, Hanam Library, and other branches of Gwangju Library in Jeonnam-Gwangju Integrated Special City (Gwangju Metropolitan City) will present various cultural and arts programs for "October Culture Month."
 In particular, the libraries will combine reading with exhibitions, author talks, and hands-on handicraft activities so that entire families can enjoy the programs and make special autumn memories together.
 Park Min-jeong, director of Gwangju Metropolitan City's Library and Information Division, said, "In October, a wonderful month for outings, I hope the various cultural and arts programs that the library has prepared with care will be a special autumn gift for residents. I look forward to a month in which families and neighbors can fully enjoy the pleasures of learning and culture together."
 According to Gwangju Metropolitan City, Mudeung Library in Buk-gu will offer throughout October two online exhibitions of original illustrations from writer Ahn Do-hyun's 'Salmon' and 'A Cultural History of Tea, Fragrance, and Flowers,' along with a themed book exhibition in its reading room. It will also give 'Munhakdongne Publishing Group Youth Novels' transcription notebooks to the first 60 new members and hold a 'special amnesty event for borrowers with overdue books' every Wednesday. On October 16, the library will invite writer Lee Dong-seop to give a special lecture on 'Vincent van Gogh and the Impressionist Painters,' exploring the artists' lives and creative worlds.


 Sansu Library in Dong-gu will hold an exhibition of original illustrations from the picture book 'To My Dog' during the same period. It will also offer various hands-on activities, including making a traditional Korean folk-painting pencil case and a decorative knot key ring on October 7, a wooden cellphone stand using napkin art on October 14, and a topiary planter on October 24.


 Hanam Library in Gwangsan-gu will hold exhibitions of 'Vincent van Gogh's Last 70 Days' and 'Zero-Waste Kitchen' during the same period. It will also offer activities such as making a macramé plant hanger on October 14, a wooden trivet on October 15, a sparkling shaker key ring on October 21, and a squishy toy to relieve stress on October 28.
