[Financial News] During the early morning hours of the Chuseok holiday, a woman in her 50s was arrested after allegedly killing her mother in her 70s, with whom she lived, at a multi-family residence in Ansan-si, Gyeonggi Province. Shortly after the alleged crime, the woman told an acquaintance that she had killed her mother. Police responding to the report arrested her at the scene.
According to Ansan Sangnok Police Station in Gyeonggi Province on the 26th, police arrested a woman in her 50s, identified as A, at the scene on suspicion of parricide and are investigating the circumstances of the crime. The incident occurred at around 1 a.m. that day at a multi-family residence in Sangnok-gu, Ansan-si.
A is accused of wielding a weapon at her mother in her 70s inside the home, causing her death. A and the victim are believed to have been the only two people living in the residence.
After the alleged crime, A told an acquaintance that she had killed her mother. The acquaintance notified police, and officers who arrived at the scene arrested A.
A reportedly told police that she had drunk one bottle of soju before the alleged crime. Police are investigating the motive and the circumstances before and after the incident based on A's statement and the scene.
