Swapped Clothes with Friend and Claimed "I Wasn't Driving": Drunk Driver Caught by Eagle-Eyed Police [Video]

[Financial News] Two men who attempted to switch drivers by swapping outerwear while riding together to avoid a drunk-driving checkpoint were arrested by police.
According to Newsis and the Seoul Police YouTube channel on the 26th, Seoul Jungbu Police Station arrested two people, including A, who drove drunk, and passenger B, who assisted him, on suspicion of violating the Road Traffic Act.
Investigators found that A's blood alcohol concentration was at a level warranting license revocation.
Police said they received a report of suspected drunk driving at a parking lot in an alley in Seoul early on July 25. The informant reportedly saw A stagger out of the vehicle, greet his friend, get back into the driver's seat and drive away.
Responding officers tracked the vehicle and found it parked at another location. They then called A and instructed him to come to the scene.
When A arrived, he denied having driven the vehicle.
Police asked the Emergency Communications Center to retrace A's movements. The center relayed over the radio, "The driver and passenger swapped clothes."
Investigators determined that A, who had initially driven the vehicle wearing a checkered shirt, swapped outerwear with the smaller-built B after receiving the police call and showed up at the scene pretending to be the passenger.
Lee Jae-hyeok, a police officer from Seoul Jungbu Police Station who responded to the scene, explained, "When the two first met, A was wearing clothing with a slit on the side. When he came to us, he was still wearing clothing with a slit on the side, and only his outerwear had changed."
After confirming through CCTV footage that A had been driving, police conducted a breathalyzer test. His blood alcohol concentration was at a level warranting license revocation.
Police reportedly continued tracking their movements through CCTV footage even after allowing them to return home.
The footage also showed the two men swapping back into their own outerwear while heading home.
