[Financial News] Actress Lee Si-young revealed how she has managed her health after undergoing surgery and treatment, saying that several family members had fallen ill one after another over the past year. She cited healthy food, regular exercise and thermal care as her preferred methods of maintaining her health. However, tissue changes at a surgical site can require different treatments depending on their cause, so consulting medical professionals should come first.
In a video posted on her YouTube channel "Boosiyoung" on the 14th, Lee Si-young introduced a wellness salon she had used for a long time and discussed her family's health problems. She said, "I don't really like taking medication, getting injections at a hospital or receiving this kind of care."
She continued, "It may be the wrong approach, but in my experience, I concluded that the best thing for me is simply to eat healthy food, exercise regularly and then benefit my body through this kind of warm care."
Lee Si-young Shares Her Experience With Thermal Care After Her Family's Treatment

Lee Si-young also revealed that members of her family had recently undergone surgery and treatment. She said, "In fact, quite a few members of my family had been ill for nearly a year. After their surgeries or treatments were over, they received warm care at the salon and were extremely satisfied. My family members felt the same way."
Regarding changes at surgical sites, she said, "The operated area seems to narrow, or the tissue becomes hard and things like that, you know. Those areas became much softer." She added, "I'm not saying people should blindly believe in it, but I once again felt that this kind of warm care was very beneficial. My parents liked it as well, so it is a type of care I really favor."
However, the narrowing or hardening of tissue mentioned by Lee Si-young cannot be attributed to a single cause. After surgery, scar tissue, adhesions, fibrosis and other changes may develop. The causes and treatments vary depending on the surgical site and the type of surgery.
Treatment for Hardened Tissue After Surgery Varies by Cause

Asan Medical Center's Disease Encyclopedia explains that a scar is a tissue change that develops as the body fills a defect left by damage to the skin or other tissue. Scars can form differently depending on the depth, length and direction of a wound, blood circulation and an individual's skin characteristics. In some cases, scars become thick or cause the tissue to pull, resulting in a contracture scar that limits the range of motion.
For this reason, the same treatment is not applied to every case in which a surgical site becomes hardened. Depending on the condition of the scar, treatments may include silicone sheets, injections, laser therapy or surgery. The hospital explains that treatment can vary depending on the condition and location of the scar.
Thermal therapy is also one of the rehabilitation treatments used by medical institutions. The hospital's Department of Rehabilitation Medicine explains that it uses exercise therapy, musculoskeletal rehabilitation and heat and electrotherapy for patients with physical injuries or functional limitations to reduce pain and help restore function. However, the treatment used varies depending on the patient's condition, surgical site and stage of recovery.
Healthy Diet and Exercise Should Be Managed Separately From Treatment

The healthy diet and regular exercise mentioned by Lee Si-young are also part of general health management. The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency National Health Information Portal explains that regular physical activity helps improve fitness, prevent chronic diseases and maintain mental health. The intensity and type of exercise should be adjusted to an individual's health condition and level of physical activity.
However, lifestyle habits or thermal care cannot be considered substitutes for medical treatments such as medication, injections or surgery. In particular, if hardness, pain, swelling, abnormal sensations or restricted movement persist after surgery, the surgical site and underlying cause should first be assessed before a treatment plan is determined by the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine or the relevant medical department.
The Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at Asan Medical Center also explains that rehabilitation treatment is tailored to the cause of a physical injury or functional limitation and may include exercise therapy, heat and electrotherapy or lymphedema treatment. For tissue changes that develop during recovery after surgery, the condition should likewise be assessed through a medical consultation rather than selecting a treatment based solely on the effects perceived by the individual.
