Men's 3x3 Basketball Advances to Final After Beating the Philippines, Vies for First Gold Medal [Nagoya Asian Games]

The men's team, coached by Bae Gil-tae, defeated the Philippines 21-9 in the semifinal held on the 25th at a specially constructed court in the plaza at Kinjo-futo Station in Nagoya, Japan.
South Korea reached the final for the first time in eight years, since winning silver at the 2018 Jakarta-Palembang Asian Games, where 3x3 basketball was introduced to the Asian Games program.
Lee JuYoung and Kim Seung-woo, both from Yonsei University, along with Lee Dong-geun of Korea University and Gu Min-gyo of Sungkyunkwan University, have reunited to pursue the country's first-ever gold medal after finishing runners-up at the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) 3x3 Asia Cup in April.
The final will be held at 7:30 p.m. that day. South Korea will face the winner of the semifinal between Qatar and Iran for the gold medal.
South Korea seized the initiative with consecutive two-pointers by Lee JuYoung and Kim Seung-woo, pulling ahead 8-1 just over 1 minute and 20 seconds after the game began.
With 7 minutes and 9 seconds remaining, Kim Seung-woo's two-pointer widened the gap to 13-2. South Korea remained comfortably ahead, and with 29 seconds left, Lee JuYoung's two-pointer took the team to 21 points first, ending the game.
Kim Seung-woo scored 8 points and grabbed 3 rebounds, while Lee JuYoung added 6 points. Lee Dong-geun contributed 4 points and 5 rebounds, and Gu Min-gyo had 3 points and 5 rebounds for a balanced performance.
Meanwhile, the women's team, which reached the semifinals for the first time at the Asian Games, lost 8-19 to Japan in the semifinal and was relegated to the bronze-medal match. Kim Jungeun (BNK), Choi Ye-seul (Samsung Life Insurance), Heo Yu-jeong (Shinhan Bank), and Song Yun-ha (KB) will face Thailand in the deciding game.
