He continued, "There is absolutely no chance that I will remain in office beyond June 2, 2030, so those who may be worried about that should not worry."
The June 2030 date mentioned by President Lee is when his term is set to end. His remarks are understood as clarifying once again that he does not intend to serve a second term.
At a press conference held at Cheong Wa Dae on June 18, President Lee had previously emphasized, "A second term for me through a constitutional amendment is constitutionally impossible," and added, "I want to state this firmly once again. I have absolutely no intention of serving a second term."
